The washing machine won't drain, all the lights are flashing and the display shows error F05 — what's going on?
The machine is telling you it is having difficulty draining the water. This prevents the wash, the rinse and the spin cycle — in short, the machine is stuck.
The first thing to check (and you can do this yourself) is the pump filter: unscrew the cap and make sure everything is clean and the impeller can turn freely. It is quite common for the space to be blocked by foreign objects — a coin, a button, a small sock, or even the colour-catcher sheets used directly in the drum.
Of course, it could also be a fault with the drain pump itself, which would need replacing.
In that case, as always, call an engineer for the washing machine repair.
