Archimede is a European network of engineers and repair centres specialising in out-of-warranty household appliance repair. Founded in 2001, we coordinate independent professionals across Italy, Spain, Germany and the United Kingdom. The aim is simple: deliver an organised, transparent and guaranteed service.

Our history

Archimede was founded in 2001 in Italy as a coordination service for appliance repair centres. The idea behind it is summed up in the tagline — the appliance specialist near you: matching customers with the nearest qualified engineer. It works both ways — customers find a reliable professional close to home, and engineers work more efficiently with organised jobs in their area. Since 2005, the network has expanded to Spain, Germany and the United Kingdom.

Over the years, Archimede developed proprietary management software to track every job from the initial request through to completion. The software is also used by independent repair centres to manage their own work. In total, the system has recorded over 900,000 jobs since 2019 — that is the data behind the statistics and analyses we publish in the Lab.

The independent repair market is fragmented — engineers working on their own, with no common standards, no written guarantee, no brand standing behind the service. Archimede exists to fill that gap, bringing together technical expertise, digital infrastructure and clear rules.

Commercial transparency

Timeline. The Archimede network has been operating in Italy since 2001, and across Spain, Germany and the United Kingdom since 2005. Numeri Primi Srl, the current owner of the Archimede trademark and operator of the network, was incorporated in 2021 and registered the trademark (n. 018463548) in order to give the existing business a formal legal structure.

Independent network. Archimede is an independent network of engineers and repair centres. We are not an authorised service centre for any appliance manufacturer. We work exclusively on out-of-warranty appliances (typically more than 24 months from purchase). Customers seeking warranty repairs are advised to contact the brand's official service directly.

Third-party trademarks. Third-party trademarks (Bosch, Whirlpool, Samsung, Siemens, Miele, Ariston, Electrolux, etc.) and any logos that may appear in photographs of real appliances remain the exclusive property of their respective owners. Their use on this website is solely descriptive of the service we provide (repair of appliances of those brands), in line with the descriptive use of trademarks principle established under EU case law (CJEU, judgment C-228/03 Gillette).
